A Journey Through Surgical Science
My journey through surgical science began on a bright and sunny morning in the summer of 2016. I had chosen to pursue a career in surgery and was ready to take the first steps towards becoming a surgeon. Little did I know that this journey would be filled with moments of tremendous joy, frustration, and growth.
I started my journey by enrolling in a pre-med program at my local college. Taking anatomy and physiology classes, I was able to learn about the human body from the inside out. I was fascinated by the complexity of the human body and was determined to learn as much as I could. I was also introduced to medical terminology and the basics of medical procedures.
After completing my pre-med classes, I began to look into medical schools. I had heard of the grueling process of getting accepted into medical school and was determined to work hard to make it happen. I started studying for the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) and was determined to get a good score. After months of studying, I was relieved to find out that I had gotten a good score on the MCAT.
With my MCAT score in hand, I started applying to medical schools. I was scared and nervous of the process, but I was also extremely excited to pursue my dream. After months of waiting, I received the news that I had been accepted into medical school!
With medical school acceptance in hand, I began to prepare for the next phase of my journey. I knew that medical school would be challenging and that I would have to work hard to succeed. I studied hard and worked hard, and eventually I was able to pass my exams and move onto the next stage of my journey.
The next phase of my journey was a surgical residency program. I was excited for the chance to learn how to perform surgery. During my residency, I had the chance to work with experienced surgeons, who taught me the ins and outs of the field. I learned how to suture, dissect, and perform various types of surgeries. I also learned about the importance of communication and working with a team.
After my residency was complete, I was ready to take the next step towards becoming a surgeon. I took the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) and was relieved to find out that I had passed. With my medical license in hand, I was ready to embark on my journey as a surgeon.
I began my career as a general surgeon, working at a local hospital. I was amazed at how much I had learned in such a short period of time and felt ready to take on the challenges of being a surgeon. I was excited to help people and to make a difference in the lives of my patients.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to perform a wide range of surgeries. From simple procedures to complex surgeries, I have had the chance to help my patients in various ways. I have also had the chance to work with a variety of specialists and to learn from their expertise.
My journey through surgical science has been filled with moments of joy, frustration, and growth. I am thankful for the opportunity to pursue a career in such a fascinating field. The journey has been long and challenging, but I am proud of what I have been able to accomplish. As I continue on my journey, I am excited to see where it will lead me.
